Hi! I'm Michael McElroy, MS, SHRM-CP, CSC*

​Based in Baltimore, Maryland, I have spent my career partnering extensively with nonprofits and mission-focused organizations across the U.S.

​

My nearly 20 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector include professional stints with arts, direct service, consulting, and policy organizations. I began my talent acquisition journey as a team leader and hiring manager myself, so I understand firsthand how critical it is to have the right hiring supports in place. 

 

I bring a consultative approach to recruiting, grounded in HR best practices. I’ve worked with and implemented a range of applicant tracking systems (ATS) and enjoy making them more user-friendly for both candidates and hiring teams.

I’ve cultivated a LinkedIn network of 3,500+ values-aligned jobseekers, and use modern sourcing tools to find the right candidates for even the toughest-to-fill roles.

Most importantly, I believe that equitable hiring is effective hiring — and that principle guides my recruitment work.

MS - I earned a master's degree in Human Resource Development from Villanova University.

SHRM-CP - I hold the SHRM Certified Professional credential from the Society for Human Resource Management, the leading HR association in the U.S. This certification recognizes expertise in HR operations, strategy, and best practices.

CSC -  I’m a Certified Search Consultant, accredited by the American Staffing Association, recognizing my expertise in ethical and effective recruiting practices.
